In Nowa Sól there was situated the only road bridge in the area of Glogów- Cigacice (cca 90 km) in the interbellum period. Moreover there occured a railway bridge a few kilometres distant northwards (the rail Nowa Sól- Wolsztyn). While there are few preserved pillboxes in the surroundings, right in the city there is the situation far better. Unfortunately the preserved works are overwhelmed or we didn´t manage to find them. Finally we had to put up with the only bunker designed for the enfilade of a heavy machine-gun, which is situated 200m up the river from the roud bridge. In the shooting room there was fixed a rarely used armoured casemate 5P7 (weight 15000kg). It didn´t come down in any work of the Oderstellung and also the stage of the preservation of the pillbox itself can be described as unique. Except the casemate itself it hung over almost without any damage. On the ceiling beam there came down armoured cubes for populating of the ceiling-part of the armoured casemate. There was only one entrance into the pillbox, which lacked an embrasure for defense. Behind the armoured door there was a little entrance room, where an escape way led from, and which was followed by the shooting room itself.
